Problem connecting to SQL Server Express 2005 instance

description

Hi Folks,

Thanks for putting together this free application. I've attached the database to my version of SQL Server -- Express 2005. I've also configured the surface area to accept remote connections, I've enabled user instances, and when I test the connection in Visual WebDev, the sql connection succeeds. When I build the app, everything succeeds. When I open it in a web browser, the login screen appears. But when I type in my credentials I get the following error message:

"An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)"

I've tried using several logins + passwords including: "admin + admin and admin admin + admin (these were in the Admins table). I can't think of what else to try. Can you please advise?

Thanks very much,

Fran
